Guidelines for Passenger

  1. Each passenger is only permitted to carry 5kg of luggage due to limited space in the helicopter. Therefore, passengers are advised to only carry handbags as suitcases cannot be accommodated in the helicopter.

  2. All temples in Dodham Yatra are situated in high-altitude areas, so passengers with breathing problems should consult a doctor before undertaking the journey. It is also advisable for all passengers to carry a small oxygen bottle, which can be purchased locally at medical shops.

  3. Passengers are recommended to book evening flights/trains when returning from Dehradun, as there may be delays due to weather or operational reasons when reaching back from Badrinath to Dehradun.

  4. Although daytime temperatures are normal, it becomes cold at night, so passengers should bring warm clothes with them.

  5. The altitude of Kedarnath temple is 11500 feet, and Badrinath temple is 10000 feet. Passengers may experience a lack of oxygen, especially at Kedarnath, so it is recommended that passengers walk slowly and keep portable oxygen bottles in case of breathlessness.

  6. The distance from Kedarnath helipad to the temple is around 500 meters. For passengers who are unable to walk this distance, we can arrange pithu (shoulder carriage) on request (at an additional cost).

  7. All passengers arriving by helicopter are allowed to do VIP darshans inside the temple. However, during the heavy rush period, administration may not allow passengers to go inside the sanctum sanctorum for puja, and darshans are done from outside only.

  8. Dangerous goods are not allowed on board the helicopter. If passengers have any doubts about an item, please clarify in advance.

Terms and Conditions:

  1. Helicopters have strict weight restrictions at high altitudes. Passengers weighing above 75 kg will be charged INR 2000 per kg over and above 75 kg. However, if two or more passengers in a group have an average weight of 75 Kg, then extra charges will not be applicable.

  2. Passengers are advised to mention their correct weight in the booking form. If the weight is found to be incorrect at the time of travel, the pilot has the right to deny boarding to the passenger.

  3. Due to the limited weight-carrying capacity of helicopters, we may have to shuffle passengers between helicopters for safe flying in the hills. Therefore, as per the pilot's recommendation, passengers traveling together may not be accommodated on the same helicopter flight.

  4. The helicopter schedule mentioned in the itinerary is fixed, but helicopter flying in hills is dependent on many factors like weather, etc. Sometimes, we may have to change the timings due to operational and technical reasons.

  5. Only 5 kg baggage per passenger will be permitted. Passengers are advised not to carry big suitcases as there is very little baggage space inside the helicopter. Passengers bringing excess baggage might not be allowed to take the same in the chopper by the pilot.

  7. Children above the age of 2 years will be considered as full ticket, and there is no provision of concession for children or senior citizens.

  8. Rescheduling of booking to the next date will be done subject to availability and on payment of 10% of the cost. This will be permitted only if applied seven days before the journey date.
